Fluorescent lamps

Fluorescent lamps are low-pressure glow-discharge lamps in which the energy of a gas discharge released in the lamp is converted into visible light over the fluorescent substance coated on the inside of the glass tube. By means of the different chemical composition of the fluorescent substance, practically any spectral composition of the emitted light can be achieved. With their lifespan of up to 55,000 hours when using appropriate ballasts and a high light efficiency, fluorescent lamps are among the most economical light sources of all.

Starters

NARVA starters ignite quickly, safely, in unfavourable ambient temperatures, and also prevent damage to the lamp. Strict test specifications and a high technical level ensure high quality. NARVA starters are equipped with suppressor capacitors and are VDE approved.

Energy-saving lamps

Energy-saving lamps have become synonymous with energy-saving lighting. At a comparable electrical power, they produce around five times the amount of light of incandescent lamps and have a lifespan that is many times higher.

Compact fluorescent lamps

Compact fluorescent lamps with sockets are intended for use in conventional or electrical ballasts, depending upon type. When the lamp fails, only the lamp itself is changed while the ballast remains in the light.

LED

With LED lamps, the light is produced by electrical processes in a semiconductor crystal. This results in high luminance and a compact design for the actual light source. These lamps are characterised by both high energy efficiency and a long lifespan.

High-pressure lamps

High-pressure lamps produce large quantities of light from an arc discharge in a very small space. Exterior lighting for transport facilities of all types, stadia, building sites and buildings depends almost exclusively on these lamps. Indoors, industry and sports hall lighting as well as the lighting for sales rooms, entrance halls and exhibition booths are also important areas of application.

Halogen lamps

Halogen lamps have a similar design to standard incandescent lamps. By using halogen compounds, it is possible to improve light efficiency and increase lifespan. Higher permissible temperatures inside the lamp enable a considerably more compact design compared to standard incandescent lamps. Halogen lamps offer a wide range of design possibilities, beginning with spotlights for accentual lighting, right up to floodlights for illuminating large areas.

Incandescent lamps

With its warm light, the incandescent lamp is present in many different applications with its large range of shapes and colour varieties. Its relatively low price and excellent colour rendering are advantageous. However, these lamps have a high energy consumption and a short average lifespan of 1,000 operating hours. Furthermore, legal regulations are gradually limiting their use.

Glass tubes

Glass tubes consist of a high-quality soda lime silica glass and are primarily used in the production of fluorescent lamps and vacuum pipes for solar thermal energy. The glass can be easily fused with other customised glasses and metals.
